UFC FIGURE KARO THE HEAT PARISYAN

Just a quick post update. I added another UFC MMA figure to my collection. It's Karo Parisyan. This ultra flex figure is from series 3 UFC 78. He's 5"10" 170 LBS. Karo The Heat Parisyan fights in the welterweight class. His record as of today is 26-6-0 (W-L-D)

I should have some more UFC MMA figures to add to my collection after Xmas! I think Santa has a little something under the tree for me:)

Muscle Bodies

It's not what you think. Get your mind out of the gutter! I'm talking action figure muscle bodies people. If you are a collector, I'm sure you're doing the happy dance in anticipation of all the new muscle bodies being released this year and next. I'm pure salivating.

I saw this figure yesterday on One Sixth Warrior. I really like this one. It has a few flaws but, overall this looks like a great figure and it's not just a body. It comes with a great head sculpt. Now, they are advertising it as an Asian muscle body but, this guy doesn't look Asian to me. I agree with my fellow collectors. He looks like a cross between The Rock and Obama. Here are some pics.

Okay, enough of the naked action figure pics. Let's see how he looks in some clothes.

I love this figure! The only problem is, I love the head sculpt too. If I get this figure, I'll just have to do a general kit bash. I love this guys face.

Now what I don't like is the arms and face are a different skin tone than the rest of the figure. I can overlook that as long as this new company does not try to charge Hot Toy money. A minor imperfection that can be easily hidden as with the posted figure in clothes.

The other thing I don't like is the legs have no detail. This company did an excellent job on the muscles on the upper torso and arms but completely neglected the poor little guys legs.

What I do like. This figure is totally bad ass! Look at dude in his fatigue jacket and faded jeans with just a hint of white boxers and dark sunglasses. He looks great. He has an awesome realistic face sculpt.  I'll definitely be ordering one of these if the price is right. And what is the right price? Think back to what True Type figures use to go for.

I'll be keeping a close eye on these. If the quality is good, Hot Toys may loose a customer.

HEAD PLAY

I haven't really done much kit bashing but, with the awesome head sculpts Head Play is putting out nowadays, I'm really considering it. I think I'll order my first head play head this week.

I'm considering the Hugh Jackman head sculpt. In case you didn't know, I have the biggest crush on Hugh. No disrespect meant for his wife but, your man is fine!

Here's a pic of my favorite man.

And here's a pic of the Head Play sculpt.

The sculpt looks or resembles Hugh but honestly, I don't think they nailed it. It does look enough like him that I think most people would realize who it's suppose to represent. I really want this head but, now I've got to start looking for bodies. My mini Hugh can not have just any old body now. I'm excited that there are so many to choose from now.

I've also got to find a movie with clean cut Hugh like Swordfish to base my Hugh on. I'll keep you informed.

A collector's got to do what a collector's got to do. Even if it means creating my own action figures to save a dollar:)

Hot Toys True Type

It seems like almost every week some company is out a new muscle type body. As a collector, I'm happy. It gives us more choices. For a long time Hot Toys has been the definitive number one 1/6 action figure company. I'm not saying that they're not now but, I think that being on top for so long has afforded considerable swagger. Pricing, I'm talking pricing people. The basic true-type figure that comes completely naked has inched it's way up to around $50. Really! I'm just a average working girl. I can't afford $50 a pop for figures.

When I first started buying hot toys I paid $32 dollars for a true-type figure. And I got this guy.

See, naked, no clothes. At $32 that wasn't bad.

Then I got the Hot Toys slim body. I paid $37 for this guy.

Next, Hot Toys offered a Hot Toys female true type. I brought the Cuban version at $42.

Lastly, I purchased the advanced body Obama look-a like true type also for $42.

All I'm trying to say is, that competition is good. Having more choices is good. All of us collectors can't continue to pay the increasing high prices Hot Toys are demanding. So, having other options is always welcome.

MY 7 INCH UFC FIGURES

I thought I'd show off my UFC highly articulated figures. I only have three but, the local Olie's store has a couple more of these guys on clearance and they just got the Rock in. I know. The Rock is WWE but, who doesn't like the Rock. Besides, I can see The Iceman Chuck Lidell and the Rock going at it. Enjoy the picks.

Here's a shunken version of one of my favorite UFC fighters, BJ Penn. I hate that he lost one of the last fights of his career. He is considering retiring now. He was awesome in his prime. Love him! His action figure likeness is wearing a UFC championship belt that he held. This figure comes from UFC series 3.

Here's a pic of Chuck Iceman Lidell. He has an open mouth with a tooth guard. The Likeness of this figure to the actual man is unbelieveable, especially when you think about the scale of these figures only being 7 inches. They did a great job of capturing the fighters likenesses.

These figures are acurate down to the tatto on Shogun's shin. The detail is amazing. Shogun also has tattos on his inner biceps. How awesome is that?

Mauricio Rua or Shogun has Chuck Iceman Lidell at a disadvantage. Shogun is from the Pride series. Pride 33 second coming to be exact. Chuck is from the UFC series 3.

Here's a close-up of Shogun. All three figures have different body types. BJ is the smallest. Chuck is in the middle and Shogun is the biggest of all. There is a larger body type than Shogun. Jaks had to allow for bigger UFC fighters like Brock Lessner.

These guys are ultra flexible. As the series of UFC fighters have continued the figures have gotten better as far as flexibility. Even though they are from the same series, BJ is not as flexible Shogun or Chuck.

Chuck is from the same series as Shogun but because he doesn't have the molded fight shorts, he is more flexible than Shogun.

I've played around with stop motion and I think these little guys would be perfect for stop motion because of their ultra flexibility. When I get my new camera I think I'll give it a shot.

Chuck KOs Shogun! And strikes his famous pose. Hope you have enjoyed the pics. I was inspired to do alittle something different after viewing some of my fellow collector blogs. I really love these figures. I think I'd totally geek out if they gave these guys the 12 inch treatment with the same articulation. I have counted 30 points of articulation on these little guys. That's more than enough. I'd be willing to pay in the $30 range. Think about it Jaks?!

These are the figures that I hope Santa brings me:) The one in the white trunks is another version of Shogun. The one in the black trunks is one of my ultimate favorite fighters, Lyoto The Dragon Machcia!

New 1/6 clothes

For you collectors on a budget, lookout for new Ken fashions that fit most 1/6 action figures. I have ordered clothes for my figures before but, keeping an eye out for Ken Fashionistas line will help keep you on target with your budget.

Speaking of budget, I had planned to buy a couple of high end Hot Toy figures but, they have priced me right out of their market. Won't be upgrading to Hot Toys anytime soon unless they bring their prices back to where they were a couple of years ago. I'm too frugal for that.

New face sculpts

Well not new but, new to me. I thought I had most if the PTE face sculpts, but I discovered this morning that I am about 80 short! I don't expect to get all 80 but I am hoping to score some of my favorites from.the past.

How happy am I with my local Big Lots? Very!

I also picked up Batwoman #3 and Ultimate Comics all new Spider-man at my local comic shop. I actually picked up the last Spider-man #4. Both comics were released today.

Wish me luck.

COMICS HITTING THE SHELF NOVEMBER 9TH 2011

Batwoman #3 from the new 52 will be in comic shops this Wednesday! I'm already hooked on this comic series.

I will be heading out to get these hot off the press. BTW if you are wondering why you are getting more than one post on the same day...I'm off and in the bed sick but, my fingers are still working:)

ACTION FIGURE BODIES

ACI is coming out with a really good looking muscular action figure body. I saw it this morning on Cotsworld for $46. The bodies look great! But, they don't come with a head. The AA bodies look fantastic, but no head.

And if you are a collector like myself, you know that finding a really good AA head sculpt is nearly impossible. Here's a look at the bodies.

Like I said, the bodies look great but, I don't know where I would find a head for them. I already have the President Obama Hot Toys advanced body.

And the slim truetype based on Terrence Howard.

When I first started buying the truetype Hot Toys base body, they cost $32 and they came with a face sculpt. Now if you want a base figure they cost between $40 - $50.  Even though the ACI  bodies really look good, I don't think I'll be buying any because I'd rather purchase a figure that comes with a sculpt. I can change it out if I want to later.

I've being thinking about Enterbay lately.

You can grab this figure with the Jason Borne face sculpt for about $35. This body type is very similar to the original truetype body but, it is a bit taller than the true type. Keep that in mind when making your decision.

Hot Toys has a new muscle body out later this year with a head sculpt included. It goes for $54 at Big Bad Toy Store. I'd be willing to pay that for this figure because by the time you find and pay for a head sculpt, you'd end up spending at least that much anyway.

I love my PTE figures but, what I notice is they haven't quite figure out how to make the faces of the AA realistic like the other nationalities.

And like I said, there aren't alot of AA good sculpts out there. I wouldn't want to pay $50 for a body and then put this face on it.

POWER TEAM ELITE ASIAN FIGURE!!!

I can not believe I found a figure that I have been looking for 6 years! I don' t think they even make these anymore! And I found 2! Yep. I brought them both. Early Xmas Present to me:)

This figure's head sculpt is based on MC Toys founder. I did not think I would be lucky enough to own 2 of the 3 Asian sculpts that were released to North America.

Here's the other Asian sculpt that I found a couple of years ago. I have another one MIB. Well, I guess there is hope yet that I might be able to find the last one:)
